Getting Involved

Tenants are at the heart of everything we do and we want to know your views, so we can deliver the services and achieve the standards you expect.

Listed below are ways to get involved, from becoming a Board member, joining our customer panel, becoming involved in performance scrutiny and joining our share membership.

EKHA Board

Our Board sets the strategic direction of EKHA, they monitor EKHA performance, and manage risk. The Board meets on the last Wednesday of every month, in the evening.

All new members receive a comprehensive induction programme with their own personal ‘buddy’ and ongoing training to support their contribution as a Board member.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Board, please contact us for more information.

Our current Board consists of 11 members and 3 co-opted members: Maureen Watson, Chairperson (joined 2017, became Chair 2020), Andy Bryant, Vice Chairperson (joined 2015, became Vice Chair 2018), Michael Gallagher, Vice Chairperson (joined 2015, became Vice Chair 2020), Lilian Delaney, Secretary (joined 2012, became Secretary 2020), Pauline Hollinsworth (2012), David Young (2019), Maureen Donohoe (2019), Lisa Irvine (2019), Gill Hood (2020), Michelle Campbell (2022), Campbell Hall (co-opted 2022), Anne Marie O’Grady (2023), Gregor McKenzie (co-opted Sept 2023), Danielle Calderwood (co-opted Nov 2023). The dates represent the year members joined the Board.

Customer Panel

Our Customer Panel is a group of EKHA tenants who are interested in the operation of the organisation.

The Customer Panel looks at how we report on our performance and scrutinises performance information, gives input on some new/reviewed policies and suggest improvements to documents such as the newsletter and the tenant handbook.

Input from the panel is vital in making sure we get things from our customer perspective and as a member of the panel you can influence and improve services and help us deliver a tenant centered service.

Here’s some examples of what panel has been involved with so far – choosing garden competition winners, developing our new look tenant handbook and customer panel approved logo, looking at our newsletter and suggesting content, reviewing our performance reporting, and approving our draft annual tenant landlord report.

If you are an EKHA tenant and would like to get involved in the Customer Panel, please contact Housing Management staff to discuss this. Call on 01355 227751 (press option 3) or email at [email protected].

Performance Reporting

Our Customer Panel and EKHA agreed an approach for our performance reporting (2023/24) at their July 2023 meeting. Click on the PDF above to read our agreed approach.

If you would be interested in getting involved in looking at how we prepare and report our performance information to our tenants or hear more about all the reports we do, please get in touch on 01355 227751 (press Option 3) or email [email protected].

Share Membership

EKHA is a membership-run organisation. All members are invited to our Annual General Meeting and are eligible to stand for election to the EKHA Board. Those who wish to apply for membership should contact us for a membership form. The completed form should be submitted with £1.00 to our Secretary at the Association’s registered office at 2 Old Coach Road, East Kilbride, G74 4DP.

We seek to establish a wide and active membership base by recruiting individuals with a positive interest in the aims, objectives, and day to day work of the organisation. We are keen to ensure that the views of our members are reflected in the work we undertake, and that effective use is made of the skills and experience of our members in working towards the achievement of our objectives.

If are interested in Membership, please get in touch on 01355 227751 (press Option 4) or email [email protected].
